Facing the future today
At Deakin, we love a challenge. As we move into an increasingly digital future, we're making sure to drive the innovation the university needs to keep ahead of pace and equip students with the digital skills and literacy required for the jobs of tomorrow.
We enhance the teaching and learning experience of students through the application of novel technologies designed to solve human problems. In 2018, the Department of Education Student Experience Survey found 91% of Deakin undergrads rated our IT resources as either good or excellent.
You can let our tech sweat the small stuff (and some of the big stuff), while you enjoy your education.
We will be Australia's premier university in driving the digital frontier, to enable education for the jobs of the future and research that makes a difference to the communities we serve.

Centre for Advanced Design in Engineering Training
The Centre for Advanced Design in Engineering Training (CADET) is a futuristic engineering facility emphasising solution-focused engineering design and product development. CADET facilities include additive manufacturing technologies, CNC machining centres, 3D printers, a virtual reality lab, a chemical, corrosives and material lab, a high voltage lab and design and realisation studios.
CADET focuses on digital manufacturing, rapid prototyping, 3D modelling and visualisation technologies. Students, researchers and industry can master the tools and techniques that will take Australian manufacturing beyond the 21st century.
Deakin’s Motion.Lab – Centre for Creative Arts Research is the first motion capture and interactive performance research development lab in an Australian university. It works with the Institute for Intelligent Systems and Research to develop new approaches to movement, art and technology.
With SPARK Deakin you'll meet like-minded problem solvers and motivated change makers to support you on your entrepreneurial journey.
